I'm uploading this for anyone who ever wanted to see the Smithsonain thylacine only to be disappointed with just a shadow. ...but really I'm uploading this for and 'cause they're groovy and were the first people I've ever met who loved thylacines as much as I do.
Anywho, I took this back in the summer of 1996 or '97 and as you can tell, I have poor photography skills. I'm also sorry about how messy the photo is (I'm a messy person and even my most prized things get a little dirty), I cleaned it up as best I could. Anyways, that was probably one of the best days of my life, I could have sat there all day enjoying the dear. I think I just about cried when I saw it too. XD Until the day the thylacines come out of hiding, this is the closest I'll ever come to one and I'm very thankful for that. I can only hope the Smithsonain realizes one day that they're hiding one of the greatest treasures in the world and truly put it back on display for everyone.
Thank you for posting this!! I am so upset that they have it behind a veil currently and think that it's stupid since the Smithsonian thylacine is probably one of the best looking mounted thylacines available to see. Some taxidermist did an exceptional job on this one.
